Our community investment activities are a key part of our commitment to the Mount Isa community.

The Community Assistance Program (CAP) helps us develop partnerships with local community organisations, across three key areas: Capacity building - including education and training, enterprise development and economic diversification; Health - to support the delivery of essential health and community services; and Environment - to support programs focussed on the protection of environmental values.

Since 2004, we have invested more than $35 million through our community investment programs and initiatives across our north Queensland communities of Mount Isa, Cloncurry, Camooweal, Townsville and Bowen.

Some of the events we sponsor every year include:

  • The Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo
  • Mount Isa Mining Expo
  • NAIDOC week celebrations
  • Northern Outback Business Awards
  • Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic.

This program calls for applications on a quarterly basis and four rounds of funding will be distributed to the community in January, April, July and October each year. The below table outlines timelines for the 2017 North Queensland Community Assistance Program:
