Life often has its ups and downs but did you know, as a Glencore employee, you have access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to help in times of need?
Glencore's EAP, provided by Assure Programs, is a work-based program provided to assist employees as well as their families to help identify, clarify and resolve personal issues and overcome challenges.
Confidential counselling is provided by psychologists and counsellors who are experienced in assisting individuals with a range of concerns from managing depression, anxiety and stress to conflict resolution and managing relationship issues.
Maryann Wipaki, General Manager – Health, Safety, Environment and Community says for the first time this counselling is now offered via confidential SMS / text message in addition to existing face to face and phone services.
Individuals can now connect by texting 0439 449 876 to a qualified psychologist for private, immediate clinical support regarding their work, health or life issues, 24 hours a day.
"The SMS counselling service increases an individual's access to professional counselling delivered in real-time through everyday technology," Maryann says.
"We acknowledge there are work-related and personal day-to-day pressures and this service enables immediate support in environments where people may not be able to talk openly."
"It also allows you to access assistance discreetly and at any time of the day or night."
"It's suitable for those who are anxious about direct interaction and offers individuals the option of commencing discussions through SMS, prior to considering phone or face to face conversations," Maryann says.
"We encourage all Glencore employees to access this confidential service if they feel it could assist them."
